This position encompasses programming of applications that control rate, material handling, communications and user interfaces. The current primary role is to develop and modify various industrial applications for our industrial equipment. Experience with C or C++ is a must. Education in Control Theory is a plus. Experience with Industrial Protocols is a plus. Experience with User Interfaces GUI is a plus. Job Title: Field Service Engineer Department: Customer Service Reports To: Customer Service Manager Principal Purpose: To provide courteous and professional customer assistance with equipment installation/start-up and/or problem resolution. Major Responsibilities: X Perform equipment start-ups in knowledgeable, professional manner. X Troubleshoot system technical problems in field. Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge is required. X Willing to travel at a moment’s notice. Can be up to 75% travel US wide and some international. X Enlist help of Engineering and Sales to solve problems where appropriate. X Provide support for Company Mission and Quality Policy. X Develop and maintain follow-up system which allows you to complete tasks arising from service trips or phone calls in a timely, complete manner. X Develop working relationships with customers to promote future PCC business. X Provide feedback regarding Quality on all start-ups. X Prepare Service Call Reports in a timely manner. X Inquire about and provide information to Sales about: Future expansions, Competitive Information (good or bad), PCC equipment. X Assist Test Engineering with Customer/Product Development Testing when in-house. Key Performance Measures: X Customer Satisfaction with PCC Service Engineer (Timeliness, Professionalism, Knowledge, Documentation) X Technical Knowledge - ability to adapt as products change. X Timeliness and Completeness of Reports. X Ability to Perform Service Tasks efficiently. X Expense Management. Qualifications: Engineering degree and/or 2 years Field Experience troubleshooting electromechanical equipment or components. Computer literate. Willing to travel on short notice and for unscheduled length, both domestic and international. Strong verbal and telephone communication skills.
