Upgrades for Continuous and Batch Blenders

Touch Screen Upgrade for Autobatch and Guardian Blenders
We offer a new touch screen controller for Autobatch and Guardian blenders that is an off-the-shelf solution to improve your blender’s performance and longevity. This non-proprietary upgrade will not only add years to your blender’s life, but it will actually improve your blender’s accuracy and output as well. the upgrade is also a way to simplify the blending process and postpone future blender replacement, which makes things easier and saves you money all at once. Your older Autobatch or Guardian controls are facing the threat of becoming obsolete; ensure that will not happen by upgrading to our new touch screen control system today.

Upgrades for Continuous Blenders
In addition to the same touch screen as mentioned for the batch blenders, Process Control offers brushless motors and drives and a DSP weigh module upgrade kit for our Continuous Gravimetric blenders. As compared to the previous versions, the new gearmotors are both brushless and encoderless, for far superior reliability, performance and a longer lifespan. The new motors come with more torque and a far greater speed range than before. Only two power/gear ratio combinations are required to cover the required RPM range for our line of blenders and feeders, versus eight power/gear ratio combinations for the previous permanent magnet gearmotors. The new drive/gearmotor package is 100% compatible with PCC blenders and feeders already in service.

Metering Gate Comparison on Batch Blender Video

Check out this video of a Guardian Series 2 Batch Blender dispensing material from the metering gates. One gate has the standard v-gate design (right) while the other (left) has a restrictor plate installed. The restrictor plate gives processors the ability to finely control low rate ingredients for even greater batch accuracy.

Twelve element, 12kg Guardian Series 2 Batch Blender in Production

Process Control has recently shipped a 12kg Guardian Series 2 Batch Blender with 12 elements for a compounding application. The goal for the end-user is to eliminate clean-out of the material multi-hopper segments. Each segment is dedicated to a particular material which is chosen according to the compound recipe.

Special “Hopperless” Blender Design for Height Restrictions

For Guardian 2 batch blending applications with severe height restrictions, as typically seen when the blender is mounted directly to the processing machine, PCC offers a design without the material hoppers. The top of the blender frame, with metering gates, allows for a custom adaption plate to provide connection to the material supply hoppers and loading equipment, typically mounted above on a mezzanine.
This hopperless design is currently available on our 2.5, 5 and 12 kg G2 blender models. This design feature helps outline PCC’s commitment to provide our customers custom engineered solutions to meet specific needs.

New Batch Blender Mixing Video!

PCC has made a new video of the mixing process of our Guardian Series 2 batch blenders. The demo shows 95% virgin mixed with 5% color as being dispensed from the weigh hopper above. Less than a 15 second mix cycle is all that is required to provide a homogenous blend for the process.

Process Control is ready to ship out a special group of Guardian Series 2 gravimetric batch blenders with regrind feeders and touch screen controls. In total, there are eleven 5kgs equipped with regrind, one standard 5kg, and two 25kg Guardian Series 2 blenders. All have the special touch screen control enclosure engineered for extreme ambient conditions.

Blender Touch Screen Control Enclosure Engineered for Extreme Ambient Conditions

Last month we gave an update on a special order of Guardian Series 2 Batch Blenders going through production. As we continue to track their progress, we now find that the special touch screen enclosures are nearing completion.
The enclosure for the touch screen control, mounted on each blender, has been engineered for extreme ambient conditions including 131 degrees F (55C), using a dual door concept and thermoelectric cooler. In addition, a remote touch screen panel with embedded windows operating system utilizing VNC and wireless technology, also equipped for high temperature conditions, will be remotely mounted and equipped to display and control up to eleven blenders, displaying up to four blender screen simultaneously.
